Note: Our map on the right hand side, shows as the third right when you come into Noke Lane, But please take first right as you enter in to the Noke Lane. 

By road :

* Look out for and follow the brown signs with a white butterfly.

Exit the M1 at junction 6 and join the A405 towards St Albans. After 300 yards turn left into Noke Lane, the first right into to Butterfly World(Miriam Lane). The entrance is half a mile up the lane.

For those coming from St Albans or Hatfield either take the B4630 from St Albans or the A405 following signs* to Watford and the M1. Continue past the Thistle(Noke) hotel on your right to the roundabout over the M25(Junction 21a) take the 4th exit A405 back towards St Albans. After 300 yards turn left into Noke Lane, then first right into Butterfly World(Miriam Lane).  

For those of you with Satnavs, the postcode is AL2 3NY, although it is recommended that you follow the signs when close to the site as some Satnavs lead you down Chiswell Green Lane (from where you can  only gain access by foot) instead of in to the main entrance. 

By foot/bicycle :

There is a pedestrian and bicycle entrance to Butterfly World located along Chiswell Green Lane which is off Watford Road B4630 it goes from the Three Hammers Pub(approx 10 minutes walk), or alternatively you can gain access to Butterfly World at the main entrance from Noke Lane off the A405, first right into Butterfly World(Miriam Lane). The entrace is half a mile up the lane.

By train :

You will need to take a train to St Albans Station. Trains from Brighton & St Pancras stop at this station. From the station you will need to take a taxi to Butterfly World or get the 621 or the 724 bus which stop outside the Three Hammers pub where you will need to cross the road and walk to the pub, then to turn left into Chiswell Green Lane and walk for about 10 minutes before reaching the pedestrian entrance on your left hand side.

Trains from Euston and the North stop at Watford Junction Station where you need to take either the 321 or 724 bus towards St Albans.

By bus : 

712 service run by Arriva will drop you of just in front of the entrance. For this service timetable please click here.

The 321 and 724(going towards Watford) will take you to the Three Hammers pub, where you will need to cross the road and walk to the pub then turn left into Chiswell Green Lane and walk for about 10 minutes before reaching the pedestrian entrance on your left hand side.

The 621 stops in Tipependale Lane just before the Three Hammers pub, go back to the main road and cross over to the pub then as above.

The 321 and 724(coming from Watford)will drop you off at the The Three Hammers, walk back to the pub and then turn left and go down Chiswell Green Lane and walk about 10 minutes before reaching the pedestrian entrance on your left hand side.
